The conflict in Sudan has driven millions of people from their homes who have left to seek refuge in neighboring countries and safe zones like Halfa in North Sudan. The people of Sudan were already facing dire circumstances due to rampant malnutrition, weather shocks, rising food prices, and social and political unrest. All of these have now been exacerbated, and humanitarian relief is sorely needed.

Currently, 50 percent of the total population, almost 11 million, are children who desperately need humanitarian assistance, access to clean food and water, and care. These children have endured uncertainty, trauma, and violence for over a year, and their future is at risk. Around 3 million children under five are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition this year and fall victim to various disease outbreaks.
